For this project I was tasked with designing a concert poster referencing 1960s era psychedelic typography. I hand rendered all of the text included in the poster design. My process for this involved some initial research to solidify what direction I would be taking for the type design. For the context of this artist and the style of music, I felt that if I was to do a psychedelic design it would have to have some edge.
The final design that I used for this project is inspired by the later era of 1960s psychedelia which was starting to show some punk design influences. One of these such influences was Stanley Mouse for example. Following the style of psychedelia, my color palette was very bright and bold with highly contrasting colors.
